Long-distance move from Buffalo, NY to Ocala, FL

What a relief/Definitely recommend

I moved from Buffalo NY to Ocala FL a few Months back with My Best Mover. They were absolutely amazing and very precise with their communication starting with the initial Moving Coordinator right down to the Customer Service. I know I was a pest blowing up Customer Service twice a week until I received my Delivery, but they were very helpful, and provided me Delivery updates as I requested them. They made my Cross- Country Move so much easier on me, especially with the packing. I’m in my late 40s and needed all the help I could get. The drivers were great, they loaded my items very quickly. I am uploading a few pictures of how my items were Delivered they showed up in the same condition as when they were first picked-up. Strapping my items down safe and tightly. I received my items a few days ago, only one little ding on the corner of my dining room table(nothing a little polish won’t fix). I will say this, kudos to the Delivery drivers that put my California King bed-frame back together, it was a headache.(They were tipped very well.)

Long-distance move from Louisville, CO to Bradenton, FL

Burn your belongings instead

If you have a choice between burning your belongings and using My Best Mover LLC, I recommend burning your belongings.

Please learn from my mistakes - I've made them all this move and it has cost me dearly. I hope to someday get my belongings.

Mistake #1 - I used a moving broker. I didn't understand why people were so against moving brokers. Now I know.

Moving Brokers are not the people who are going to do the actual move. And this company doesn't communicate with the mover that gets the job. The mover didn't know that I had purchased a complete pack & unpack job until *the morning they were going to come* And it was a complete house. The movers showed up late (they had to buy packing materials they didn't know they were going to need) and ended up not finishing the job in the few hours remaining of the day.

Mistake #2 - This company gives you one price first, then after it's too late to break the contract or find another mover, they have a "QA call" where they *double* the price. They ask more questions during the QA call - questions they could easily have asked during the first call - and determine at that point that you are using more square feet than initially thought and therefore more than double the price. Oh, and they "talk with their manager" to "get a better rate" so you think they're helping you. They're not. It was their plan the whole time. So you have to pay extra at the end of this QA call.

Mistake #3 - Once the movers arrive, you've already paid the moving broker their share, you're committed, you need to move on this day and have no negotiation power. As soon as you exceed the arbitrary square footage number that the people *on the phone* made up, you are now faced with a 4x increase in price per square foot. We're talking an increase from 0.8 per sq ft to $5 per sq foot. If you want to bring your stuff, you have to pony up to the movers. This is how they manage to recover the money that the moving broker took off the top.

Mistake #4 - not printing the contract/having a copy. When it was time for delivery, it turns out that the moving company wants to charge me for having a smaller van because the 18 wheeler can't park on my street. This is again another con to get as much money out of me as possible. And it's "in the contract" under "additional expenses". A contract which is in one of the moving boxes.

Mistake #5 - believing the delivery date of the packers. They don't know. They promised us one date and here we are over a week later and still no furniture.

Lesson learned - once you hit your moving date, you no longer have any negotiation chips - your move and your furniture are all held hostage by the movers.

My Best Mover LLC knows this and takes full advantage of it at every turn. They get your business with a low price and raise it substantially when you have no other options. Avoid this company at all costs. I didn't, and it's costing me all.

Long-distance move from Jerome, ID to Waynesburg, PA

My WORST Mover

This company seems to have great customer service on the phone, but our move had been a series of shady events. First, they gave me an unbelievable quote and insisted I put $1700 down in cash immediately or I would lose the price. I admit to being a bit naive, but they explained they needed to plan in advance with the current market, and the quoted price was in our budget. Then, when they called to verify the move a month later, they more than doubled the price just days before our pick up. So I had no time to make alternate arrangements.

The young men who showed up in a Penske rental were a day and a half late. They were unprofessional in handling our things. They demanded more cash than was quoted to me and refused load my things until I paid it. I ended up not putting all furniture on the truck because we didn’t have the cash. We were not given an inventory of our things.

I waited 6 weeks for our delivery even though the loaders said they would see me the following week. I was unable to contact the carrier because the phone number was out of service. It turns out they contracted my things to 11even Movers and Storage. Within the 30 days we were never contacted by phone. I had to keep tracking down phone numbers as it changed. When I called a guy would answer “hey” and ask where we were moving from and to. “It’s in storage” or “it’s one the road” is the only info we were given by phone.

Our delivery finally came with just 2 hours notice at 4 pm on a Saturday. The young man demanded we pay him the cash before he would unload. Then, the 2 young kids set everything off the truck in our driveway and said they needed to go get dinner. I

Asked if they were coming back to put things in the house and assemble the furniture, which was part of the contract. They said yes, but I knew they wouldn’t come back to finish the job, so I sat on the bumper of the truck and demanded to take back and hold some my money. He refused. I insisted on taking a picture of his ID which was a Learners permit from New York. Then they drove off. My husband followed them and sure enough the got on the interstate and were gone.

Some of our inventory is missing, at least a mattress and ladder for our kids bunk bed. I’ll be sorting boxes in my garage today to make sure nothing else is missing.

When I called the My Best Mover customer service they

said there was nothing they could do to help me.

This has been a nightmare and I hope no one else ever books with this company! I feel robbed of money, and peace of mind!

Extremely rude and disrespectful

Their movers showed up upset because my belongings weren’t packed. After some words exchanged by myself and the driver they stepped outside to contact their manager. The manager said he was declining my move because I refused to pay the $2,400 additional price they wanted me to pay. I’ve already paid $1,300 deposit and was told I owed $1,700 half at pick up half at delivery. The manager then told me how much of a piece of crap I was for not paying this additional price and to get a uhaul and do it myself. I called my best movers customer service and was disrespected by them as well. They laughed in my face and told me they weren’t giving my deposit back. They continued to hang up on me and leave me on hold for an extended period of time. This company is a scam and I highly do not recommend. They should be closed down. Seems like the unhappy customers are all long distance customers. Why accept the move if you will treat your customers like crap? If the move is too long do not accept it.

STAY AWAY

We are moving with the military and were told they are veteran owned. They quoted us one price and a few days before the move, QA called us and increased our priced from $5,000 to $7,000. We are only moving a 3BR townhome so I don’t know why it would be that much in the first place. Then 24 hours before the move we get a text from the movers saying to have cash prepared for pickup. I thought this was too sketchy and refused to hand someone over $2,000 in cash. Then they gave me some sketchy story about the truck breaking down and needing cash to fix it. Then they changed their mind and said I could Zelle them. The number that was texting me was a text to subscribe number from Hawaii. So they were using a fake number and the number they wanted me to Zelle this money to was to an individual living in CA. We have lost our initial deposit of $3,000 and I am completely sick. These people are running a scam.

Long-distance move from Michigan to Illinois

My worst mover is more like it

1. I gave exact dimensions of all of my items to Isabelle and she told me I had a small move that would be 490 cubic feet (3430 lbs). Isabelle left out 2 box spring/1 mattress instead of 2 beds which I didn’t find out until my quality assurance appointment with Jordan.

2. Isabelle promised I would get a 26 ft box truck to myself that was on its way to Springfield, IL and she even put me on hold to confirm with dispatch. Isabelle wouldn’t give me this in writing because she knew I wouldn’t be getting an entire truck to myself because my move was small.

3. At my quality assurance appointment with Jordan on June 2, 2022, Jordan informs me over the phone that I actually have 568 cubic feet of items and I have to pay more.

4. All moving services LLC arrives June 4, 2022 at 4:00 PM not the 10:00-12:00 we were told by dispatch. The driver says that I have more items than can fit in the empty truck and have 100 cubic ft more of inventory for a total of 668 cubic feet even though the inventory is accurate from my quality assurance appointment and Sylvie from customer service says I either pay more or lose my entire deposit that I made. So I have to fork up another $235.88 the day of after the banks have already closed. They also damaged the door frame moving the sectional pieces.

When they finish the move at 6:30 PM June 4,2022 My entire move was 52 items and only took up 25% of the 26 ft box truck and the driver said initially that the items wouldn’t fit.

5. I was told by Lauren at My Best Mover LLC customer service that since All Moving Services LLC came to pick the items up early they would place the items at their hub in a secure location. The driver told me he was going to leave my items on the truck at their hub.

So they told me:

1. I would be given my own private 26 ft box truck: I didn’t.

2. My items wouldn’t fit in the 26 ft box truck: They did with plenty of room to put other moves.

3. My items wouldn’t just be left on the truck they would be stored securely at no cost to me: Nope. The driver of All Moving Services says they are going to be left on the truck in Chicago.

So three untruthful statements, or as I like to call them, lies.

Don’t use this company. If you can avoid brokers entirely.

Awful Customer Service

I received a phone call after submitting for a quote. The customer service was great until I asked to review the cost with my husband and get back to them. I was told I needed to three way my husband in and that wasn't possible he was working. Then a supervisor got on the phone telling me to make a decision to put a $2500 deposit down or get off the phone. In complete and utter shock I told him I guess I will get off the phone his exact words "bye Ashley" and hung up the phone. To my suprise I received yet another phone call today and explained I do not believe they have good reviews and was told why would we care about your review you are not our customer. Please find a more reputable company that appreciates not only current customers but potential as well. I honestly have never been talked to so poorly by grown men. This company should be turned in!!

Called to inquire for a quote. I spoke to Don Malone, the operations manager and told him I have competitive offers for other companies and wanted to see what they can do. He LIED ABOUT EVERYTHING telling me the other companies are false, and that I’m “fucking stupid to go with anyone else but them”. I work in Sales, and Don Malone clearly is the type of rep who will lie about everything, and charge you ridiculous prices for his commission. I decided to go with Rigos moving and they were amazing and charged literally $1,000 less than these bums. Don Malone said They were a fake company, What a joke. AVOID AT ALL COST

I seriously regret hiring My Best Movers LLC to coordinate my interstate move and had a bad experience with them all around. (AVOID MOVING BROKERS PERIOD! I didn't know any better. Lesson learned.) To start, I was completely misled about the total cost of the move by sales rep, Andrew Price. I wouldn't say he outright lied to me, but he was clearly dishonest. The initial estimated total cost with under $2500; I ended up spending more than twice that to move the equivalent of a small one-bedroom apartment (400 cubic feet) from North Carolina to West Virginia. Totally unacceptable, wish I'd done the whole move myself. These people bled me dry. In the end, the move got done, and the mover himself was awesome (find actual movers, do NOT contract with one of the brokers, they are con-men to the core). Icing on the cake: they sent TWO different moving companies to the pickup in NC, so we had two trucks on the block at one point vying for the job. Funny thing is, the movers who showed up second didn't seem phased that another company had beat them to the job, almost as if it happens all the time. What a sh*t show.

Low balled estimate, up charged three days before. The driver tried to upcharge us bc they should have gotten theupcharge.N o return calls on update, get to location to find our stuff still in original city. Was told it could be another 2-3 weeks they had no time frame as when stuff would even leave. Complete bullshit and managers don't care and company refuses to compensate. They screwed the driver over and said it the refund from them. We already paid so they have no care or worries to help. Do not move with this company. Also all the emails the quote has vanished.

Dishonest company

Do not use this company! We unfortunately trusted them when they gave us an estimate and took our deposit right out of our checking account. They called back a week later to go over the items and decided it would be much more. We said no we would take any overage in a trailer. But when they came to load us, they again said it would be even more than the second price. We forfeited our $1060 deposit and told them to leave. They said we had almost 700 cf.....the initial estimate was 360 cf. We then rented a truck that holds 800 cf and it was not even half full after we loaded it. They are totally dishonest and know that most people have no choice at that point and will just pay . Never use a broker and never someone who won't take a credit card.

DONT USE THIS COMPANY COMPLETE SCAM

Had to get a last minute pickup of boxes to move from OH to CA. Agent was polite and said for sure there would be someone there within a two day window to pick up the boxes as my elderly mother was closing on her house. Long story short, moving company showed up a day late after the house closed and my mother was on a train to CA. This is a logistics company, they outsource their moves. When I called to ask who the moving company was, they would not tell me. Every time I called I was greeted by rude people who told me to wait to get a call from Dispatch but could not put me in direct contact with Dispatch. I was hung up on, disconnected or rolled over to an afterhours system that had a full Voicemail system, but I was able to text them. After hours says I’m on the schedule to be picked up between 2-5 pm. Moving company texts me that they probably wont make it as they have a flat tire. Can we make it tomorrow? So obviously there was no communication between customer service and the moving company. I called Customer Service, they said to call the movers (WHO ARE THE MOVERS?) When the moving company texted me, they would not tell me who they were. Through a third party, I was finally able to find out who they were. They were a company notorious for picking up stuff and not delivering it or holding the shipment hostage and asking for more money. After talking to Customer Service to get a refund (yeah right) they said that contractually I had a refusal of service because no one was there for the moving company to pick up my shipment. Of course not the only person that could have signed for it was on a train. Good thing is I’m only out $1300 rather than not receiving the boxes at all or having to pay more to get them off the truck.

Rude manager and horrible professionalism

Would give zero star rating if possible. Manager showed true colors after I explained, for the third time to the third person, that I was just looking for an estimate and not ready to make a decision on booking with his company. I wanted to collect other estimates before making a decision. Manager was agressive and tried to force me to commit with high pressure sales tactics, even when I said I understood that pricing was "live" and would change if I took time to think about my options. He gave off the attitude that I was wasting his time, then proceeded to hang up on me. I will never book or recommend this company as long as I live!

Overall the customer service was horrible. They seem to be nice and careful to get you to book with their company and after you make your deposit there’s little to no communication on when your stuff will be delivered. When you call, the people on the phone are rude and disrespectful. And they have hidden fees that they will not discuss to you in the beginning, so make sure you read the contract before you sign. They don’t tell you about the shuttle fee, they don’t tell you about the stairs fee. And they won’t tell you the additional fees until they get there with your stuff to drop off. They’ll make it seem like you have to pay this or you won’t get your stuff. If your moving out of state it will be 30 BUSINESS days before they get your things dropped off. And they will wait til the very last minute to get it there before the 30th business day. I honestly didn’t like doing business with them. If they were honest about everything upfront it would have been a better experience, just the fact you have to call them 2/3 weeks after they took all your belongings to get and update is crazy.

I called them and they told me my things would be on its way on Wednesday and they would call to let me know they left. So Thursday after I didn’t get a call, I called just to make sure they left and the lady on the phone told me the date was moved back two days til Friday!! I asked why nobody called me to give me that update, and she said we don’t have to call you and give you a update. I wouldn’t recommend anyone use this company with the way we were treated.

Dec 01, 2021
Long-distance move from Cleveland, OH to Portland, ME

Worst moving company ever

This is a scam company, DO NOT ever do business with them. Do not be fooled by the 5-star reviews below which are totally fake. Just read through the 1-star reviews and you will see how everyone is complaining about the same things over and over again. If you read this comment and still want to work with this scam company, go ahead and do it. At least you will learn your lesson that you will never forget. For those of you who are smart enough to do their homework and read the reviews before signing a contract, just keep reading.

First of all, you should know that this company does not have any trucks or drivers. They are just brokers - or the middle men - who connect customers with drivers from other companies. So, they have zero control over the actual movers you deal with, and you will have to end up signing two contracts: one with this scam company and one with the actual moving people. Whatever you do, never work with brokers.

Below is what would happen if you worked with this scam company:

1. First time you talk to them, they will give you a very very low price. You will think "man, that is really cheap. If I rented a U-haul truck and did all the moving myself, I would probably end up paying more." Of course, they will underestimate on purpose. This is just a lure to have you sign their contract. For example, my first estimated moving cost was around 4000$. Additionally, they will tell you any lies you can think about to convince you. For instance, they told me that my stuff would be delivered WITHIN 2 DAYS. Another lie is that if I wanted to add more stuff to my moving list, my price would go up by a few hundred dollars maximum. I will come to those later.

2. They will have you sign the contract over the phone immediately. They will email you the contract and ask you to go over with it together. Yet, they will only go over the 9th paragraph that says something like you won't pay anything more than your estimated cost. Of course, this is just bullshit. What it actually means is you won't pay more than your estimate cost for the estimated cubic feet. They will rush it so that you sign the contract without carefully reading it. NEVER AND EVER sign a contact without carefully reading it first. If they rush you, this is a sign that they are ripping you off in a legal manner.

3. Once you have signed the agreement, you pay 30 or 35% of your estimated cost as deposit. You have 72 hours to cancel the agreement, in which case they will still charge you 10% for service fee. It is very likely that you would sign this agreement well before your moving date so there is no reason why you would cancel the agreement within 72 hours.

4. 48 hours before the moving date, the brokers will call you, the so called quality assurance call. This time they will be more thorough and tell you that your estimated price has just gone up more than 50%!! My estimated price went from $4,000 to $6,700!! Normally, the contract lists the price per cubic foot as $4.25, but at the end of the day they dramatically increase all the other fees on the contract so that even if you have additional 200 cubic feet, you won't pay another $850 but $2700. At this point, you will either be fine and pay the extra dollars or cancel your agreement and forget your deposit. Plus, you now have to find another mover within 2 days only so you are screwed. I don't think my biggest mistake was signing the initial contract. My biggest mistake was that I did not cancel the agreement and forgo my deposit after the so called quality assurance call.

5. When the real movers show up at your place,(most likely they will not show up on the day your were promised) they will have you sign another contract. On the contract, it says your belongings will be delivered within "24 BUSINESS DAYS". Are you f..g kidding me? You are told that your stuff would be delivered within 2 days before you sign the initial contract and now it is a whole different story. Going from $4,000 within 2 days to $6,700 within 24 business days. Just to give you an example, they picked up our stuff on 10/26 and delivered on 11/30. We ate our Thanksgiving turkey on plastic chairs. They could have been later than that and we would have had nothing to do. God knows how long it would have taken them to deliver if I had not called them every single day.

In short, do not be deceived by those liars. They will tell you just anything to have you sign the contract. This is their job. They will sit in their office the entire day and find stupid people to rip off. If you want to do yourself a favor, find a real moving company with real trucks and drivers and research their ratings carefully. Work with big companies with a long history and with very few or no 1-star reviews. Research them on FMCSA to see if they have a lot of complaints. You do not have to learn your lesson the hard way. Take those negative comments here seriously.

Long-distance move from Weedsport, NY to Burlington, NC

A very costly education!

I called My Best Mover LLC (should be My Worst Nightmare). Their estimate was $9,100 after all the discounts. It seemed legitimate based on other estimates.

I Googled reviews, but somehow missed the plethora of negative reviews concerning them. I saw a couple reviews with some glowing ones, not realizing that companies buy positive reviews.

I was told by Brock that I could cancel (though only for 72 hours, which he did NOT tell me). When I initially read the contract over, I missed it.

The original "inventory" list included items from a 4-bedroom house, plus a piano and gun safe. WARNING!!! IF THE COMPANY BIDS BASED ON CUBIC FEET, IT IS A SCAM!!!

To lock in my dates, I had to pay $3,334 by ACH withdrawal, not by credit card. I was suspicious, but called another company (also scammers) and they assured me that this was the "industry standard." WARNING!!! Paying anything by ACH is NOT standard!!! HANG UP!!!!

I received the Quality Assurance call late Friday afternoon. Jordan recalculated my move, and the price came back at $13,400! I told him there is NO WAY that I can afford that!

I printed his "inventory" (which is a JOKE) and went through and took more than half of the items (most of the larger ones) off. When I called back, I couldn't get through.

On Saturday, I finally heard from Jordan. I was down from 1723 cu. ft. to 1500 cu. ft.; but he couldn't change the contract - it had already gone to dispatch. Not to worry, though, because when it was loaded, I could look at the markings in the truck and see how many cu. ft. I was using and stop when I wanted. Then, I would receive a credit on the delivery end of the contract. What could I do, they were coming Monday?

The movers did arrive Tuesday (1/25) in a rusted out, old truck, not an 18-wheeler, but a 6-wheeler!

After seeing what items I wanted them to take from the revised inventory list, He promptly told me that they would not load one box until I signed their bill of waiting. The price was now $15.233! Not for the entire move, but for the drastically reduced number of items. MOVER BEWARE!!!

They needed $700 to move the safe out of my basement onto the truck (the safe cost me $650)! The small piano would cost $750 for them to pack! (I bought it 20+ years ago for $750).

He told me there was no point in calling My Best Mover because they are a broker and not the moving company. My “Binding Moving Estimate” was not valid. I had to sign his paper first agreeing to pay over $6,000 more than the original estimate (Can anyone say "BAIT AND SWITCH"?)

I called My Best Mover LLC and got different people who said the same non-sense. They denied what I was told by Brock and Jordan. They said that I was misrepresenting items and being dishonest!

Brock had assured me that though I had to pay the deposit by ACH withdrawal, I would be able to pay with a credit card for the other 2/3 of the cost (half the remainder at pick up and the rest at delivery). The movers do NOT take credit cards! They wanted cash, money orders! When I spoke to My Best Mover LLC, they told me they had a solution - I should go to the Post Office and buy money orders with my credit card! SCAMMERS!

In addition, the amount was not for half the remainder that I had to pay. The movers told me I had to pay the entire balance less $800 cash which would be due on delivery. So, even with the original estimate I would have to come up with over $5,000 cash for them. By the way, the POST OFFICE does NOT take credit cards for money orders!!!!

After probably 2 hours wasted on the phone, we sent them packing (without our stuff). I had basically been called a liar, a cheat, and unreasonable. I was told many unreasonable things that didn't make sense, but I was the one who wasn't working for a solution!

The movers agreed, if I paid cash or whatever, they would take the few boxes in the garage for the $9,100 price - not everything on the list, but the boxes in the garage.

Hindsight is 20/20. My education on moving scams cost me $3,334! Fortunately, it is not as bad as others that lost $5,000, or $12,000 and the last one never had their stuff delivered anyway! BTW if, on your moving day, you try to look for your "contract" online to show the movers (not that they care), it has magically disappeared because you are transferred to the mover. All bets are OFF! All agreements are NULL and VOID! You are going to pay THROUGH THE NOSE and regret it!!!!! (The deposit you paid is to the broker, not the movers, so you are OUT!

Do YOURSELF a favor, hire a LOCAL mover - one you can go see and get a guaranteed price in writing that will not change!

After all is said and done - remember - Life does not consist in the abundance of things that one possesses. Many things are more important than money - family, faith, integrity. etc. One day, the MY Best Mover people will learn this. I hope it is before it is too late for them because all accounts are not settled down here!

Soli Deo gloria!

Long-distance move from Bremerton, WA to Tampa, FL

Horrible communication and customer service

My items were picked up 11/10/21 in WA and they still have not arrived in Fl. The estimated time frame was 7-21 days. The movers themselves are also evasive and My Best Mover does not do what they say will do in the contract, which is assist in any issues between you and the movers. They are a glorified middle man with no responsibility or ownership to their customers. My recommendation is to rent a uhaul and drive it yourself. You’ll know where your items are, when they will get to you, and won’t have a stress headache from lack of communication.

Not worth the money or stress IMO
